The Fedorova&Takser Piano Duo is one of the most creative, inspiring and virtuosic piano ensembles across Canada.
The Duo is well known by their innovative projects, such as "Classical music in 3D" at the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory run by the Artnovi Space, "Filming classics with drone" in collaboration with famous movie director D.Vardanyan (Netflix) or “Virtual Recital” for The Vancouver Chopin Society,
which was filmed and edited by musicians themselves during the pandemic lockdown.
Among upcoming projects, several CD's: "XIX – The Golden Duets" recorded in cooperation with the GRAMMY-award-winning team at the legendary Teldex Studio in Berlin in May 2023.
The Complete Set of Rachmaninov's works for Piano ensemble", "Complete Brahms Duets" and "Jazz Album" featured masterpieces written by N.Kapustin and A.Rosenblatt.
Active performing musicians, as well as inspiring teachers and mentors, Ilya Takser and Daria Fedorova graduated from the prestigious College of the Moscow State Conservatory and the Montreal Conservatory.
Following in the footsteps of their renowned teacher, Canadian pianist and pedagogue Richard Raymond (known for his students Bruce Liu -Winner the XVIII International Chopin Competition, Charles-Richard Hamelin - Second Prize Winner of the XVII International Chopin Competition, among many others) Daria and Ilya achieved their Master's degrees with the highest distinction.

This achievement marked a milestone in the history of the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, as for the first time, the Grand-Prix of the 'Concours'—the final examination conducted in the form of a contest among the ten conservatories of the Quebec province—was jointly awarded. The distinguished members of the jury unanimously recognized the exceptional talents of both musicians, making it impossible to choose one over the other.
Many of their performances at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal have been recorded and played on the radio.
Some recent notable engagements include the headline performance at the Vancouver International Music Competition Gala, the video-project in collaboration with the Showcase Fazioli and Westbank, organizing a series of interviews, concerts and masterclasses in Vancouver with renown world-level musicians in collaboration with the Tom Lee Music Canada;
World Premiere of their own original transcription of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" for two pianos; Europe-Asia Concert Tour, master-classes in Guangzhou; judging various International Music Competitions and giving master-classes, and recitals throughout Canada and abroad.
In 2014, Ilya Takser and Daria Fedorova settled in Vancouver and founded The Fedorova & Takser Piano Studio – the school that has produced many national and international piano competition winners and top music institution fellows and keeping providing high quality music education till today.
In March 2025, the duo released a single featuring a previously unpublished manuscript by Nikolai Kapustin: Triptych Op. 145 for two pianos. In 2025, they will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their first meeting with a new album showcasing their original transcriptions of Modest Mussorgsky’s timeless music.
Looking ahead to 2026, Daria & Ilya will record the entire set of J.S. Bach concerti for two, three, and four pianos along with pianist Richard Raymond and violinist and Baroque music specialist Olivier B. Brault.
In 2024, Ilya and Daria joined the Vancouver Chopin Society’s Board of Directors, helping to shape the future of classical music as Chief Content Executive (Ilya) and Director of Artistic and Educational Programs (Daria).
